To start our inquiry topic about communication technology we looked at how cave men communicated through cave paintings.
We came up with some great ideas for how to use natural elements in our paintings. We also used brown and red paint (clay and mud substitutes) and charcoal pencils.
Most of us loved getting our hands dirty with the paint!!

Last week we went to Pandora pond in Napier and had a go at Optimist Yachting. We had one of the yachts at school before we went to learn how to rig it and how to sail safely.
It was a great day at the pond and many of us would love to go back and have another go!!

We have been learning about different art forms and different artists. We chose one artist to find out more about.
We found out about their family life, what kind of art works they made, what materials they use and their motivation for producing art works.

At the very start of our new inquiry Mrs Corbett put art up all over the walls. There was art works from all different types of artists including, the following:
Paintings, drawings, photographs, abstract art, jewellery, garden art, street art, architecture and many more.
We looked at these art works and tried to think what the artist was trying to say and what we thought was their motivation.
